K— Kindness

Kindness is about caring for others. This is based on a Buddhist practice called loving-kindness/metta.

Sit quietly. Picture love surrounding you. Feel the warmth and say, “May I be safe, may I be happy, may I be healthy, may I be at peace." Breathe.

Picture a loved one, send love and kindness to them. Say, “May (name) be safe. May (name) be happy. May (name) be healthy. May (name) be at peace.” Breathe.

Think of someone who is hard to like. Send love and light to them, saying, “May (name) be safe. May (name) be happy. May (name) be healthy. May (name) be at peace.” Breathe.

Think of the whole world. Let love shine as you say, “May all creation be safe. May all creation be happy. May all creation be healthy. May all creation be at peace.” Breathe.


Kindness opens my life to love.
